AFS Names New Chief Information Officer

AFS welcomes Nathan Johnson to the team as Chief Information Officer. Effective May 18, 2020, Nathan brings a wealth of experience and knowledge spanning over 30 years in the industry serving most recently as Chief Information Officer for Werner Enterprises.

CEO, Tom Nightingale said “Nathan will be responsible for driving innovation and process excellence as well as on-time IT execution across the organization. His experience and proven results as an accomplished IT leader in our industry will enable him to develop and support the successful execution of AFS’s technical and business strategies. I am confident that Nathan will be a valuable asset to the AFS executive leadership team and help make the company and our culture stronger!”

Nathan has been a long-time leader in Information Technology and has been recognized by Information Week with multiple organizations. In addition to his previous role at Werner, his tenure includes Senior Vice President and CIO for Ports America, the largest US-based port operator, where his teams delivered major improvements in IT services and strategic technology investments. Johnson also served as CIO with several logistics companies and consulted with Fortune 500 organizations. He holds a dual major in Transportation/Logistics and Computer Information Systems from Ohio State University.
