AFS Names Tom Nightingale New CEO

AFS Logistics announces Tom Nightingale as Chief Executive Officer effective April 1. Tom will be responsible for driving AFS to the next level, building on the solid foundation and momentum built by the current team.

Tom is an accomplished leader, with a track record of working with high-growth transportation and logistics companies. He brings a great mix of leadership, inspiration, operational experience, technical scope, and passion for customer satisfaction. Most recently, Tom served as President and CEO of International Package Shipping and its operating companies. Collectively, the companies are the largest consolidator of consumer-to-consumer packages to Europe, with service to 180 countries through over 800 agents. Prior to International Package Shipping, he was president of GENCO Transportation Logistics, and was part of the leadership team that sold GENCO to FedEx where he then remained as an officer of FedEx. Tom also served as Chief Marketing Officer for Con-way Inc. (now XPO) and Vice President of Marketing with Schneider National. Tom has spent his entire career in transportation and will bring those skills along with his leadership to AFS.

Tom is also a frequent contributor to several trade and industry publications and speaker at global supply chain and logistics industry events. He serves on the board of several organizations, including Syracuse University’s Franklin Supply Chain Advisory Board and CSCMP. Tom earned a master’s degree in Business from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from Siena College in Loudonville, New York.

Tom relates well to people and strives to be highly visible within the organization getting to know employees and clients. We welcome Tom to the AFS family and look forward to the innovation that his experience, education, and industry expertise bring to the team.

Tom currently resides in Boston with his wife Lisa and daughters Meg and Lucy, while his oldest daughter Emma attends the University of California at Santa Barbara, CA. He is an avid rock climber and has traveled around the world for business and climbing.  A few of his favorite places to climb are Krabi, Thailand and Fontainebleau, France.

“As we navigate these tumultuous times during the current Coronavirus pandemic, what I am most thankful for is my family, our employees and our client partners. This unprecedented event will soon pass and we will get through this together and become better Individuals, Families, an Organization and a better Country. Thank you for your continued support as we charge ahead under Tom’s leadership. All the best to you and your families.”
